Michael Neven Miller

Your wings Were ready, But our Hearts were Not.

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Mike Miller on June 22, 2019. Born June 25, 1953 to Neven and Alice Miller (née Hodgson) in Fredericton, NB. Mike spent his childhood raised across Eastern Canada in Fredericton, McAdam and Edmondston (New Brunswick), Sherbrooke and Montreal (Quebec), London and Chapleau (Ontario). The family settled in Schreiber, Ontario where Mike started his career with CPR and raised his children. He spent many summers at camp at Magaguadavic Lake with his siblings and many cousins where he ignited his passion for fishing and lake life. Mike excelled at the many sports that he played. He played competitive baseball in his youth that continued with the Schreiber Men’s Slow Pitch league. He enjoyed a successful hockey career that included an Ontario Jr. B Championship with the Schreiber North Stars. Mike coached many youth Schreiber North Star hockey teams and left a positive lasting impact on all of us about hard work and having a winning attitude. He was an avid fan of the game and enjoyed watching local games from ‘his corner.’ He could also be found on the golf course. Fishing was another passion of his and there are many of us that can retell countless Baker fishing stories and adventures. He loved to take family and friends out on Lake Superior and his smile was always the biggest when someone else caught a fish.
