Annual Rotary Pike Ice Fishing Derby (February)

Every year fishing enthusiasts gather for the Annual Rotary Pike Ice Fishing Derby. The Derby takes place on the second Saturday every February and offers huge prizes. For more information go to the Pike Ice Fishing Facebook page. This is one of the biggest events of the year in Chapleau and you won't want to miss it!

Taste of the North Winter Carnival (February)

Winter Carnival is a long-standing tradition in Chapleau that proves the winter can be great fun! Activities are hosted throughout the community for people of all ages to enjoy. Keep informed on plans for the next Carnival by following the Chapleau Recreation Centre Facebook page

Canada Day (July 1st)

The Township of Chapleau invites young and old to the Chapleau Waterfront for Canada Day celebrations. These festivities commemorate the founding of Canada as a country and are a highlight each summer.

Chapleau Arts and Crafts Fall Fair (October)

Chapleau is a town of many talents and once a year all the best talents attend the Arts and Crafts Fall Fair to show off and sell their wares. This event is hosted at the Chapleau Recreation Centre (4 Maple Street). To find out more, follow the Recreation Centre's Facebook page 

Comedy Night (November)

Each year the Rotary Club of Chapleau puts on a comedy night where big names come to our small town. Watch for updates on the Rotary Club's facebook page . Tickets can be purchased in-person or at the Village Shops or by calling 705-864-1114.

Hunters' Ball

Every year the Centre culturel Louis-Hémon hosts a Hunters' Ball to celebrate the end of the moose hunt. This event is held the weekend after the close of hunting season each year. For more details contact the Centre Culturel office at 705-864-1126 or email [email protected]

CP Rail Holiday Train (December)

It's a good show, a good time and a good cause! The Holiday Train rolls into town each year with live entertainment. The community is invited to attend and bring non-perishable items for local food banks. Everyone is welcome to attend! Watch for updates on the Holiday Train Website
