Obituary: Jacques Sylvestre
On June 24, 2020, Jacques Joseph Sylvestre, loving husband, father, papa of Jana, step-father and grand-father, son, brother and uncle, passed away at the age of 60 at the St-Boniface Hospital.
He is survived by his wife, Corinne, his three children, Josée (Jeremy), Felisha (Mathieu), Joshua (Laura), his grand-daughter Jana, his step-children, Dan, Jay, Adam and Talon, his step-grand-children, Danica, Malivah, ShawanoBinesiik, Claryssa, Bryce, Mason, Hayden, Ziigwan, Rayne Lee, Daisy, Bryton, Kayleigh, Silver and Sia, his parents, Pierrette and Roger Sylvestre, his sister Sylvie (Robert), his brother Michel (Nancy), his nephews Sébastien and Jesse and his niece Annabelle.
Jacques loved his family, spending time with them and sharing with them his passion for fishing, hunting, camping, skiing, travelling, saunas, swimming and dips in the lake at the family cottage on Serviss Lake, going to the movies, watching the action in downtown Sudbury and making conversation with strangers
A traditional ceremony will be held in Winnipeg on Saturday, June 27 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. to prepare Jacques for his journey. On Sunday, June 28 at 10 a.m., a ceremony will be held so that Jacques can reach his destination, followed by a feast at noon. The ceremonies will be held at Eternal Grace Funerals in Winnipeg.
On Friday, July 3rd at 11 a.m., a private ceremony will be held at the Sacred Heart Church in Chapleau, followed by a small family gathering at the family cottage where Jacques and the family want his ashes to be.
In memory of Jacques, donations may be sent to the Winnipeg Housing and Homelessness Initiative or to Activation Department of Bignucolo Residence in Chapleau where his mother resides.

Il laisse derrière lui son épouse Corinne, ses trois enfants, Josée (Jeremy), Felisha (Mathieu), Joshua (Laura), sa petite-fille Jana, ses beaux-enfants, Dan, Jay, Adam et Talon, ses beaux-petits-enfants, Danica, Malivah, ShawanoBinesiik, Claryssa, Bryce, Mason, Hayden, Ziigwan, Rayne Lee, Daisy, Bryton, Kayleigh, Silver and Sia, ses parents, Roger et Pierrette Sylvestre, sa sœur Sylvie (Robert), son frère Michel (Nancy), ses neveux Sébastien et Jesse et sa nièce Annabelle.
Jacques aimait profondément sa famille, le temps avec eux à partager sa passion de la pêche, la chasse, le camping, le ski, les voyages, la détente dans le sauna et la baignade au chalet familial, le cinéma, regarder l’animation du centre-ville de Sudbury et les échanges avec des étrangers.
Une cérémonie traditionnelle aura lieu à Winnipeg samedi 27 juin de 18 h à 22 h afin de préparer Jacques pour son dernier voyage. Il y aura également une cérémonie dimanche 28 juin à 10 h pour que Jacques atteigne sa destination ultime. Les cérémonies auront lieu chez Eternal Grace Funerals à Winnipeg.
Une cérémonie funèbre privée aura lieu vendredi 3 juillet à 11 h à l’Église Sacré-Cœur de Chapleau, suivie d’une petite réunion familiale au chalet familial où reposeront désormais ses cendres selon les souhaits de Jacques et de sa famille.
La famille sera reconnaissante de dons commémoratifs au Winnipeg Housing and Homelessness Initiative ou au département des activités de la résidence Bignucolo de Chapleau où sa mère habite.
