Obituary: Isabel Rosanne Robinson (nee Collinson)

ROBINSON, Isabel Rosanne (nee Collinson) – Passed away at the Chapleau Health Services on Friday June 12, 2015 at the age of 86 years.  Beloved wife of the late Mansel Robinson.  Dear mother of the late infant Margaret Ann, Verlie Robinson, Mansel Steven (Pamela Bustin), Wendy MacLeod (Duncan).  Dear sister of; late Elbert Collinson (late Loraine), Charlotte Achurch, late David Todd Collinson (late Elise), late William “Bill” Collinson (late Ruth).  Isabel will be remembered by her many nieces and nephews.  Isabel was a lifelong resident of Chapleau, Ontario & Mulligans Bay.  She worked at the Chapleau Post office as a young girl under her father George Collinson, Post Master.  On May 28, 1949 Isabel married the love of her life, Mansel Robinson, & became a mother, homemaker & life-long volunteer.  Isabel was an active member & volunteer of the St. John’s Anglican Church & a lifetime ACW (Anglican Church Women) member. She was also a valued member of the Sincerity Rebekah Lodge 197 & the Legion Ladies Auxiliary.  In the late 1970’s, Isabel worked part time at the Chapleau Public School as Lunch Monitor and is still remembered as Mrs. Robinson “The Lunch Lady”.  Along with several other ladies from the ACW, Isabel was a founding member of the ACW Second Hand Store & volunteered there for many years.  Isabel’s favorite memories were of time spent with Mansel & her 3 children at “The Camp” on Mulligans Bay & later in life, of the joy and love given by her beloved dog “Robbie.”  Friends may visit at the P.M. Gilmartin Visitation Centre (10 Young Street, 1-800-439-4937) on Wednesday June 17, 2015 from 12:00 noon until time of the service at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Tom Corston officiating.  Memorial donations made to the Chapleau Health Services Foundation or to the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family..
