Obituary: George Crichton
CRICHTON, George M. – Passed away with his family by his side on Saturday, February 16th at the age of 69 years at Health Sciences North in Sudbury. Beloved husband of Ann Kathryn (nee Evans) for 44 years. Loving father of Lisi Bernier (Paul) and proud Grandpa of Sydney. Son of the late Joseph and Sally Crichton. Brother of Maryann Crichton and the late Jim Crichton. Loved son-in-law to the late Albert and Zita Evans. Brother-in-law to Joy Heft (Henry), Jim Evans (Sandra), the late Phyllis Graham (late Ted), late Bobby Evans (late Kit) and late Mary Lou Crichton. Cherished uncle to many nieces and nephews.
George will be remembered for his love of hosting, hunting, fishing and being in the bush. After 35+ years of working for CP Rail, George retired and enjoyed living at his camp, his family and being outside. He loved to lend a hand to help others, always saying he was a good ‘grunt’. He will be sadly missed by many but hopefully is watching over us in the stars he loved to stare at so often.
Family and friends are invited to visit at the Royal Canadian Legion on Saturday March 2, 2019 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. to celebrate George’s life and to share our favorite memories of him. Memorial donations in lieu of flowers can be made to the Sick Kids Foundation Neo-Natal Unit (555 University Ave. Toronto, ON. M5G 1X8 1-416-813-8787 www.sickkidsfoundation.com) or the Chapleau Health Services Emergency Department (6 Broomhead Road, Chapleau ON P0M1K0 1-705-864-3053, www.sschs.ca/foundation/donate.html) and would be greatly appreciated by the family.
