TIMMINS, April 8, 2020 – As part of Newmont Porcupine’s ongoing efforts to support host communities
around its operations, the Company is pleased to join efforts to combat the Coronavirus pandemic with
donations in the amount of $100,000 to the Cochrane District Social Services Administration Board
(CDSSAB), who is working closely with the Timmins Emergency Management Group, and $50,000 to the
community of Chapleau.

“Protecting the health and safety of our people and host communities takes precedence above all else,”
said Patrick Chabot, General Manager of Newmont Porcupine. “In light of the increased demands around
the City of Timmins and the community of Chapleau, we want to do our part to support the fight against
the COVID-19 pandemic.”

In response to the announcement, Mayor George Pirie of Timmins said, “This generous donation again
demonstrates the value of excellent partnerships and working relationships between the City, CDSSAB
and Newmont here in Timmins. This relationship is so important in times such as these when everyone
in the community must stand together to overcome this disease.”
In Timmins, the donation will be made to secure food for those most in need and help prevent
malnutrition among the most vulnerable in the community.

“We recognize the importance of contributing to the communities where we live and work. Most of
Porcupine employees and their families live in the City of Timmins, so supporting our community comes
naturally and is extending a helping hand to our own families,” said Mr. Chabot.
“Demand for food has increased for our homeless neighbours and recently laid off low wage earners,
while access to affordable food has diminished. Newmont Porcupine has really stepped up to provide for
those in need in our community and it is much appreciated,” said Brian Marks, CDSSAB’s Chief
Administrative Officer.

In Chapleau, donations of $10,000 will be presented to each of the two local food banks to secure food
during these difficult times and the remaining $30,000 is directed to the Chapleau and District Hospital
(Service de Santé de Chapleau Health Services) to purchase Protective Equipment for its staff and to set
up the screening center. Additionally, Newmont Porcupine has also purchased and delivered $6,000 worth
of cots for the Chapleau Hospital to support its alternate acute center.

“On behalf of the residents of the community I wish to express our appreciation for the generous donation
announced today by Newmont Porcupine in support of the efforts of our local health care providers in
response to the COVID-19 Health Emergency, and to local food bank organizers supporting those in need
during these trying times,” said Mayor Michael Levesque of Chapleau.

“We recognize the need to help fortify the capabilities of our public institutions so they can undertake
testing and other public health measures to minimize the risks and impacts associated with COVID-19,”
said Mr. Chabot. “We hope our contributions will significantly support those most in need and we remain
committed to keeping the lines of communication open and transparent with our partners.”
