MUNICIPAL SERVICES
Included below is a list of Township services and the impact on these services as a result of measures related to COVID-19. This page will be updated as the situation evolves. Please be reminded to clean and disinfect high touch areas regularly and wash your hands frequently.

AIRPORT
The Chapleau Airport Terminal is temporarily closed to the general public until further notice. The airport remains operational and fuel is available. Township employees remain committed to offering services and can be reached as follows: Phone: 705-864-1828 / After-Hours Emergencies: 705-870-0066

COMMUNITY CENTRE AND OUTDOOR RECREATION AMENITIES
All outdoor playgrounds, including the Splash Pad, are open. The A.W. Moore Arena is available for ice surface rental effective Monday July 19th for ball hockey on Monday’s, Tuesday’s, Thursday’s and Friday’s. At the moment the curling lounge and community hall remain closed due to the COVID-19 vaccination clinics.

Chapleau Centennial Museum/Tourist Information Centre
The Museum will be open for the season from Thursday July 22nd to Monday August 30th.
Hours of operation:
Thursday – Monday: 10:00a.m. to 5:00p.m.
Tuesday & Wednesday: Closed
The museum is limited to a capacity of 3 visitors at a time.

ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES
Waste pickup will continue to operate as per usual. For roadside collection of waste, residents are reminded that all waste must be placed in a secured green refuse bag of the standard size not weighing more than 40 lbs. (18kg).
The Landfill remains open as per regular business hours. To protect against the spread of COVID-19 please remember to maintain a distance of 2m from each other at the Landfill.

Bear bins are now open 7 days a week to help reduce bear attractants in the community.

MUNICIPAL OFFICE
The Municipal Office will be open to the public during regular office hours (8:30a.m -4:30p.m) commencing Monday July 26th for front counter assistance. Payments may once again be made in person or can be made online, at the bank, by mail, by e-transfer at [email protected] or can be placed in the drop box at the Civic Centre.

COUNCIL MEETINGS
Council meetings are being held by teleconference until further notice. A schedule of meetings is available at www.chapleau.ca.

PUBLIC LIBRARY
The Public Library will open to the public starting Monday July 26th with operating hours of 1:00p.m to 5:00p.m. Monday- Friday.

PUBLIC WORKS
The Public Works building is closed to the public. Service requests can be submitted by phone or email:

TRANSIT SERVICES
The Municipal Transit Services have resumed operations with a limit of one rider at a time. This ensures physical distancing is possible at all times and additional cleaning procedures have been implemented between riders. The transit service driver is available for passenger assistance on and off the bus with necessary precautions taken.
