DRINKING WATER ADVISORY #4
DRINKING WATER ADVISORY #4
All Residents of Township of Chapleau
The Township of Chapleau remains under a drinking Water Advisory from Public Health Sudbury & District. The water distribution system experienced a drop in pressure Tuesday morning which has resulted in the drinking water advisory.
Water pressure was restored and the Township and the Ontario Clean Water Agency (OCWA) completed a flushing program of the water distribution system.
There is a requirement to provide two water samples taken 24-hours apart to a laboratory for testing. The first set of samples has been tested and shows no issues. The second was delivered to the lab Thursday morning. We expect those results by Friday by noon. Public Health will then review them and make a determination with respect to the advisory.
The Township in coordination with OCWA continues to distribute potable water from the Water Treatment Plant to residents who attend the plant with their own containers. Access to the watering stations will be supervised and available until 7PM Thursday and again from 9AM Friday. Continue monitoring for public notices as we will update the water filling station hours as necessary. We remind people to please adhere to all public health guidelines for COVID-19.
Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.
