BOIL WATER ADVISORY
All Residents of Township of Chapleau
Due to a single, adverse test result in a specific area, Public Health Sudbury and District has issued a Boil Water Advisory for Chapleau Township.
Just after 3pm Wednesday December 15th 2021 the Township of Chapleau was notified by the Ontario Clean Water Agency (OCWA) that Public Health Sudbury and Districts (PHSD) issued a Boil Water Advisory for the Township of Chapleau. As part of their regular weekly testing program OCWA samples water at various locations throughout the community and a single test result for total coliforms from one test location did not pass.
PHSD issued the boil water advisory. System flushing took place in the vicinity of the location, the water was sampled again and sent today for testing. A second sample will be taken Thursday December 16th 2021 and submitted for testing. For the advisory to be lifted, 2 clear test results taken 24 hours apart must be obtained.
Public Health has issued a fact sheet for a boil water advisory and it is attached. A fill station is once again being put in place at the Water Treatment Plant for those who wish to use it. We will issue a notice when the station is up and running and follow up Thursday with information regarding the results of the first test.
Thank you for your patience and understanding.
