LYNN, Douglas Evan “Doug” (September 18th 1948 - September 17th, 2022) - Passed unexpectedly in the wilderness that he loved, one day before his 74th birthday. Doug will forever be missed and loved by his wife of 40 years, Roxann, as well as his daughters, Charlsie (Yvan), Kalan (Sean), and Sydney (Stéphane). He also leaves behind his granddaughters Delia, Ellie, and Nora, his sister Virginia, brother Ken as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Please be advised that Villeneuve Construction Co. Ltd. will be performing
asphalt paving work in Chapleau from October 3 to October 14, 2022.
Construction will take place on Monk Street from Water Plant Road to Teak
Street. The project is for the removal of the existing asphalt and placing of
new asphalt pavement.

wishes to inform all ratepayers that the Municipal Landfill Site will be open FREE OF CHARGE to Residential Ratepayers from October 4th to October 8th, 2022.
The hours of operation are Tuesdays to Fridays, 10:00 am to 2:00 pm and Saturdays from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.
Please be reminded that materials brought into the landfill site must be sorted in the way of steel, wood, building products, and other household waste.

Municipal Grant Assistance to Elderly Residents.
The Township of Chapleau provides property tax assistance to elderly residents. In order to qualify for the $150.00 grant assistance, you must meet all of the following requirements:
1. You have attained the age of 65 years.
2. You are in receipt of a monthly guaranteed income supplement under Part Two (2) of the Old Age Security Act.
3. Proof of your receipt of the guaranteed income supplement is required.

NOTICE TO TAX PAYERS
The first instalment of the 2022 Final Tax Billing is due September 30th, 2022.
A 1.25% penalty is imposed for late payment in addition to 1.25% per month per instalment on overdue accounts.

MARTIN, Glenn “Herbie” – Passed away suddenly at his home on Sunday, August 28, 2022 at the age of 61 years. Loving son of the late Sharon and Daniel Martin. Dear brother of Keith (Heather) and Lee (Gerry). Uncle of Mariah (Lance) and Bryce. Cremation has taken place at River’s Edge Cremation Centre, Sault Ste. Marie. WEBER, Gunne – Passed away peacefully at the Bignucolo Residence, Chapleau on Wednesday, August 31, 2022 at the age of 86 years. Predeceased by Wolfgang Weber.
