NOTICE TO TAX PAYERS
The second instalment of the 2023 Final Tax Billing is due November 30th, 2023.
A 1.25% penalty is imposed for late payment in addition to 1.25% per month per instalment on overdue accounts.

Hydro One Networks Inc. (Hydro One) and Chapleau Public Utilities Corporation (Chapleau Hydro) announced today that they have signed a definitive agreement for Hydro One to acquire Chapleau Hydro’s distribution business to serve electricity customers in the Township of Chapleau. The agreement includes purchasing substantially all of Chapleau Hydro’s electricity distribution assets for approximately $2.3 million, subject to adjustments.

We are pleased to let you know that we have reached an agreement for Hydro One to acquire Chapleau Hydro’s electricity distribution business. This means that Hydro One, pending independent regulatory approval from the Ontario Energy Board (OEB), will soon serve electricity customers in the Township of Chapleau.

The Township of Chapleau will conduct a fall cleaning of the municipal cemeteries on or after November 17, 2023 and dispose of all lot decorations in accordance with the Cemetery By-Law. Lot decorations include all structures, ornaments, candles, or other embellishments with the exception of headstones, monuments and markers.
