HONKANIEMI, Matti - Passed away peacefully at the Chapleau Health Services on Monday August 13, 2012. Matti was born on February 21, 1933 in Palijarariv Alaajarvi, Finland. Matti is survived by his wife Mary Honkaniemi and her children and their families. Loving poppa of Helen and Amber Bush of Alberta. Dear brother of Maiju, Anneli and Veikko and his wife and he is predeceased by 8 other siblings all of Finland. Matti will be fondly remembered by numerous nieces and nephews. Friends are invited to visit at the Sultan Community Hall on Saturday August 25, 2012 from 11 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. A funeral mass will be held at St. Jean Brebeuf Church at 1:00 p.m. with Reverend Mr. Ted Castilloux officiating. Interment at St. Jean Brebeuf Cemetery. Memorial donations made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated.
