2023 Fire Permits
Instructions for obtaining your 2023 Fire Permit:
Send an e-transfer in the amount of $23.00 to [email protected] , with the following information: Name, Address, PO Box #, Telephone # and email address.
Once e transfer payment is received, your permit will be issued and emailed to the address provided.
Permits can also be obtained at the Township Office, and paid by cash or debit.
Reminder: Fires are restricted between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. daily.

This notice is to all who use Riverside Dr. to access the Michael Levesque trails. Riverside Dr. is the access point for school bus drop off and pick up. The roundabout at the end of Riverside Dr. is a waiting area for the buses to position themselves accordingly.
It has been brought to my attention that there are vehicles affecting the safe travel of the buses.
By-law 2020-52. Sch. 3 restricts public access to Riverside Dr. from Minto St. to the Easterly limit of Riverside Dr.

NOTICE TO TAX PAYERS
The first instalment of the 2023 Interim Tax Billing is due February 28th, 2023.
A 1.25% penalty is imposed for late payment in addition to 1.25% per month per
instalment on overdue accounts.

Newmont Gold Answers the Call
January 26th 2023 – Chapleau, ON – Through the championing of Mayor Bignucolo and council’s dedication and enthusiasm, the Township of Chapleau with the Chapleau Fire Department graciously accepted a donation of a 2016 Chevrolet Silverado crew cab from Newmont Gold. This donation will assist the fire department in responding to emergency calls efficiently. The truck will also aid in the transportation of rescue equipment and tools.
